NASCAR hauler parade greeted by rowdy fans on Las Vegas strip

There may be a raging – or at least budding – debate about NASCAR being a little too loud emerging these days.

But along a rowdy, packed Las Vegas strip on Thursday night, NASCAR did not hold back during an impressive hauler parade that appeared to please a large throng of fans and other passers-by who enjoyed the pageantry of it all.

Roughly 6 p.m. local time – about 9 p.m. ET – the No. 48 Hendrick Motorsports hauler of defending Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series champion Jimmie Johnson led the parade down Las Vegas Blvd., as hauler after hauler appeased fans who called for the drivers of the big rigs to blast their horns as they rolled past the MGM Grand, the Bellagio and other iconic Sin City hotels, casinos and restaurants.

It was quite the spectacle and obviously set the tone for on-track activities today at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

There is one Cup practice today from 2 p.m. to 3:25 p.m. ET on FS1, followed by qualifying at 7:45 p.m. ET (also on FS1). Green flag for Saturday’s Boyd Gaming 300 XFINITY Series race is set for 4:16 p.m. ET on FS1, with Sunday’s Kobalt 400 Cup race set for 3:46 p.m. ET on FOX.
