Strip Scribbles: Jack Colton bringing L.V. to San Diego
Next Monday should be interesting in nearby San Diego when Las Vegas nightlife entertainment folks take over the California coastal city to bring a slice of Sin City to the Mexico-California border town sometimes called Silicon Beach.
Our nightlife czar Jack Colton is taking over the club Parq there with the busty blondes and brunettes from our Spearmint Rhino Gentlemen’s Club to show how Las Vegas parties. It’s all a wild and wacky promotion to lure visitors to Las Vegas from one of our important feeder markets.
JackColton.com is one of the most popular Las Vegas nightlife and travel-guide websites, and he guarantees visitors that they’ll skip lines at any club in town using his service.
No word as to what the Spearmint Rhino temptresses will be doing, but where there’s eye candy, the guys are sure to follow.
MARDI GRAS AT WYNN: Fat Tuesday next week is celebrated as the Mardi Gras feasting season that precedes the ritual fasting of Lent. There’s nowhere better than New Orleans to party with parades, masks, beads and debauchery of big eating and vast drinking. Trust Country Clubexecutive chef Carlos Guia at the Wynn to jump-start the fun with his special Taste of Mardi Gras menu.
I received a preview last week of his crawfish beignets, crispy alligator tenderloins, gumbo, shrimp remoulade and jumbo lump crab cake topped off with the traditional King Cake, which contains trinkets just like my English Christmas Pudding.
Tonight, his tasting menu of Louisiana taste treats begins its nearly weeklong run until Fat Tuesday. My culinary colleague Brock Radkefrom our sister publication Las Vegas Weekly and my esteemed A+E Senior Editor Don Chareunsy received the advance tasting with me, and we all agreed: “Pure magic.”
